A friend shared this lovely list with me last spring and I’ve worked on living by theses ideas ever. since. There is no doubt that most of us live hectic lives: caring for partners, parents and children; woking; going to school; volunteering in our communities. We know we should take better care of ourselves, but when and how?

Like most everyone else I could do a much better job of caring for myself. When I first recieved this list I was happy to note that some items on the list I’ve long worked to live by.  I didn’t feel like I needed a self care overhaul just and upgrade.  To install this upgrade I decided to print copies of the list on post card stock,  and carry them with me all the time. I give a copy to anyone who seems to be in need of a self care upgrade.  Some days I pick one item from the list and just focus on it for the entire day. It’s always enlightening to see how many opportunities I have in a day to make a choice in the way I think and act. Choices that can change a situation from one that drains my energy to one that boosts it.

I encourage you to give these ideas a try and let me know how they work for you.  If you have other hints for making self care a part of your day PLEASE share them with me, I can always benefit from a self care upgrade.
